Posting to the Blog

Hello all,

To clarify the posting process:

If you wish to create a new topic for others to comment on, please email the text to me: tillinghastplace@gmail.com, and I will post it as a new Post.

If you do not want to start a new topic, then you can just post a comment. You post a comment by clicking on the comments link below this (or any) post.

Also: Posting = creating a new topic (also called a thread) (for now, others cannot post, you can only comment).
Commenting = adding your thoughts or opinions to an existing post, usually below that post.

If you have any questions, just email me:
tillinghastplace@gmail.com

Snow Falling on Tillighast Place Cedars (and Maples and Oaks and...)

Today's first real snowfall of the season, only about an inch or two of very fluffy stuff, is a sure sign that the holidays are right around the corner...as if the Santas in the stores since Halloween wasn't enough of a warning.

On that note, the Parkside Community Association is holding a Holiday Art and Craft Sale as a fundraiser for the Parkside Summer Arts program. It is more 'art' than 'crafty', with local craftspeople selling what they make (jewelry and the like). The sale is at the Church of the Good Shephard on Jewett Pkwy, Saturday November 29, from 10AM to 4PM.

Buffalo Buildings

In case you don't get the NY Times, or missed the item in the sidebar (look on the right side of this page), there is a great article about Buffalo architecture that was in the Nov 14 edition.
Just a taste:
Buffalo was founded on a rich tradition of architectural experimentation. The architects who worked here were among the first to break with European traditions to create an aesthetic of their own, rooted in American ideals about individualism, commerce and social mobility. And today its grass-roots preservation movement is driven not by Disney-inspired developers but by a vibrant coalition of part-time preservationists, amateur historians and third-generation residents who have made reclaiming the city’s history a deeply personal mission.
The whole article is worth the read.

Want to post a comment?

In order to post a comment to the blog, you need to have some sort of online account. The easiest way to figure this out is to click on the "comment" link below the post (the main article) or the comment link that is below the comments already added. When you do this, you will be directed to a page where you can type in your comment.
When you have entered your text, you must then identify who you are. This means you need to have a google account (go here to do this) or some other blog account such as AIM, LiveJournal, WordPress, or TypePad. If you don't know what these are, probably the easiest thing to do is to create a google account (it is free).

With your account name, you can post comments.

If you want something posted, an announcement or other item that you think residents should know about, but you don't want to post it via comment, then just email it to TillinghastPlace@gmail.com.

Halloween

Halloween has come and gone, just like the candy...
It was a busy night on the street, with hundreds of kids out.

But, before trick or treating, Sue et al organized a gathering and parade for the kids.

Here are a few pictures:

Testing, testing, is this thing on?

Anybody out there?

Welcome!
It seemed time to have a blog for Tillinghast Place residents, so I decided to do it.
The primary goal of our blog is to share information with residents, whether that information is useful or not.
Feel free to provide feedback and post here to keep your neighbors informed about, well, whatever!
Comments are always on, so use comments to post items. Or, you can email me to have me start a new thread...

Enjoy!
